While the Wing Review was on the hiatus, nashville hot chicken became a thing in St. Louis. Old Standard (now closed), Southern, Byrd & Barrel, and Gus’s have all shown up on the scene in the last few years. All of these places are excellent in their own way…
And this is not a review of any of them. Instead this local wing reviewer is, for the second time in a week, taking the time to review the offerings of a fast food restaurant. Why? Because it’s cheap and convenient.
I haven’t been to KFC in a couple years, probably since I wrote this review of their wing offering in February of 2014. But here I am back again to try their new Nashville Hot offering which has been advertisted heavily lately.
I got three strips, and they were delicious. I didn’t take a picture, because I didn’t honestly think I’d like them or want to write about them, but they are really good. They are crispy and spicy and tangy and delicious. They are better than Sonic’s wings. I will probably get them again.
I’m sure these will be gone eventually, but you should try them while you can. Maybe I’ll get around to reviewing these other (better) local Nashville Hot chicken places soon.
