Wings Reviewed: Hot
Genre: Place That Serves Wings
Overview: Let’s put this bias out there. I said in my first review:
When I come back for a follow-up review, I expect to revise this rating to BEST.
And that’s just what I’m here to do. I came back 6 days after my original visit with more friends, some the same and some different from the previous visit, and things were just better. See my original review for details about Schottzie’s, and my history with the place.
Hot Wings
BAD • FAIR • GOOD • GREAT • BEST
First off, my original review of Schottzie’s wings stands. Read it. If you don’t read it, here’s the gist: They are small, they are crispy, and they are delicious. The size leads to more skin in the skin/meat ratio, and I’ve never seen wings like this served anywhere else.
It wasn’t just my imagination. The wings were better sauced this time. Here’s a side-by-side visit. Both pictures were taken with flash, but not altered in any other way.
I can also tell you that these were not overcooked. They were juicy on their very small insides and crispy and well sauced on their very small outsides. These wings can’t be missed. Not only would I go out of my way to eat them, as the rating of “best” dictates. I do go out of my way to eat them on a regular basis.
I look forward to my next 5 pounds!
